Das PPTA-Polymer wird in konzentrierter Schwefels\u00e4ure aufgel\u00f6st und durch Spinnd\u00fcsen extrudiert. Im anschlie\u00dfenden Luftspalt orientieren sich die Polymerstr\u00e4nge im fl\u00fcssigen Filament zur Faserachse, was sp\u00e4ter ein wesentlicher Faktor f\u00fcr die Festigkeit ist. Durch weitere Verstopfungsprozesse entsteht eine Faser, die aus vollst\u00e4ndig verl\u00e4ngerten Fl\u00fcssigkristallketten mit hohem Kristallinit\u00e4tsgrad gebildet wird. The continous filament yarns are getting crimped and cut and can be treated with a finishing agent, depending on the end use of the fiber.
