Meta-aramides have excellent resistance to temperature, chemical degradation, and abrasion. It is inherently flame retardant. A meta-aramide fiber is normally produced by spinning in a chemical solution, the wet spinning process. This produces a semi-crystalline fiber with a molecular chain that is partially aligned along the fiber axis. Low stiffness and high elongation give the material a textile character, which is especially appreciated in protective clothing.

Recycled Meta-Aramid fibers are due to their excellent flame resistance and thermal insulating abilities mostly used for protective nonwovens. The fibers are mechanically recycled from post consumer and post industrial textile materials. The carefully recycled fiber can be used for spinning applications or as a blend item for textile nonwoven processes.
